My Sister!

Holly and Wayne are having a girl! I am soooo excited! Today was the big appointment!! Afterward she took our mom a bouquet of pink flowers at work to "tell" her!


We are all excited and are eagerly awaiting the arrival of Harvest Anne in October! She is due the day before my birthday, Oct. 27th to be exact, so she has got to be one uber cool baby to have a birthday like that!

Tabouli

I finally found a recipe for Tabouli, I am so very excited. I haven’t actually tried this recipe yet, but I was so happy to have even found it, I had to share it today.

3 Cups of finely chopped flat-leaf parsley
4 or 5 finely chopped green onions
4 ripe, medium sized tomatoes, chopped into small cubes
1 cup of bulgur
½ teaspoon allspice
½ cup lemon juice
5 tbs olive oil
Salt and Pepper to taste

Rinse bulgur several times and soak in cold water for about twenty minutes
Chop Tomatoes (small dice)
Clean and Chop Parsley (remove large stems, you want mostly leaves)
Put Bulgar in a Sieve to drain
Chop green onions
Mix together – Toss Well

Taste for seasoning, if too dry you can add additional lemon juice

Tabouli benefits from resting; leave in the refrigerator for a few hours or over night tossing occasionally.

Tasty Tip: Use in a Salad - Greens, Cucumbers, Tabouli, Sunflower Seeds and Ranch Dressing....YUM, YUM, YUMMY.....served with a side a Hummus and Pretzel Crisps

Today is our Anniversary! Three years ago today, at about this time, we were in a little chapel in Gatlinburg, TN getting married. We spent the next week in the mountains of Gatlinburg! I haven't stopped wanting to go back yet! It is beautiful there! That was the best week of my life!

Not Me! Monday

Well it's that time again, Not Me! Monday. Being brutally honest and living to tell about it. This is a blog carnival created by MckMama, so hop on over to her blog and see what she and every one else have not been doing this week.

I was not an hour and a half late for work this morning because I was not vomiting uncontrollably! I did not tell my boss I was "running a little late" then lay back down only to fall fast asleep! Not Me, I am always on time for work and I would never do such a thing. I am not sitting at my desk, wishing I had stayed home in the bed rather than dragging my neauseated self into the office to sit at this desk all day! I did not come in only out of guilt because I took a vacation day Friday, and figured no one would believe that I actually am sick today!


Sorry, I am not much fun today!

They had horse rides, and face painting too!! This was by far one of the neatest party ideas I have every seen. It was so much fun, and the lady was so laid back, and the kids really enjoyed themselves.

Kayleigh Anne Freeman

Please pray for Kayleigh's Family. Yesterday Kayleigh was completely healed in Heaven. She is now made perfect, and is praising our sweet Jesus face to face. However, I know her parents would rather have had her healed here in their arms. Please pray for their comfort and peace as I know this is a horrible road to walk down.

Today is mother's day! I want to start by saying Happy Mother's day to my mom. My sister and I were talking the other day about how truly blessed we are to have the parents we have. We didn't realize it growing up, but some poeple didn't have a family like ours. Our parents were always at everything we ever did, softball, dance, school programs, beauty pagents, whatever we did, they were there supporting us and telling us how great we were. We never doubted if we were loved or if we had value in our home. I can't imagine life any other way, we are so blessed! Our mother is the reason we are the women we are today! Happy Mother's Day Mom! I Love you!

Wacky Wednesday

They left out one seemingly important detail, important to me anyway. Was there anyone in the portable toilets??? YUCK!!! Can you imagine being inside one of those things when something like this happened. I think that may be why I have a fear of portable toilets.

PUYALLUP, Wash. - A small airplane dropping from the sky after its engine failed wound up on a cushioning bunch of portable toilets — and the pilot was able to walk away apparently unhurt.

Gary Mayor of the Federal Aviation Administration says the Cessna 182 crashed Friday afternoon in Washington state after taking off from Thun Field, an airfield owned by Pierce County southeast of Tacoma. Sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer says the plane was about 150 feet in the air when the engine quit. Troyer told The News Tribune that the pilot tried to turn around to land but didn't quite make it. The plane hit a fence, flipped over and landed upside down on top of the portable toilets standing in a storage yard. Authorities didn't immediately give the pilot's identity.

Today was my due date. If things had gone differently, I would be holding my new baby today. Looking at his or her eyes, holding his or her little hands in mine, and trying to figure out which one of us he or she looks like. I have been dreading this day with everything in me. I have worried and wondered about how I would react today. It’s amazing; I can't even explain the Peace that God has given me today. While I AM sad, I am not overwhelmed. I am actually OK. I honestly never thought I would be able to say that and without the help of God, I wouldn’t be able to say it. He is my ALL IN ALL!

I don’t know who is out there reading this today, or what is going on in your life; but please let me assure you, even when it feels like you can’t hold on, Jesus is holding you. Don’t give up! I have felt, at times, like I couldn’t go on, like my life was falling in around me, and there was nothing I could do to stop it. I also know the relief that comes when Jesus just holds you in his arms, and that is a place I never want to leave. Please, know that God loves you and wants nothing but the best for you. Sometimes he allows us to walk through things that we can’t understand, but he is always there to hold us, just don’t give up.

Cranberry Couscous

I have decided to be EXTREMELY lazy today. I didn't even bother to copy and paste the recipe here. I am stealing MckMama's recipe for Cranberry Couscous. It looked so wonderful when she posted about it on her blog, I just had to go home and try it for myself. It was then I knew, it would make my Tasty Tuesday short list! I even brought leftovers for my lunch today!

It’s that time again...Not Me! Monday...being brutally honest and living to tell about it.

Bill did not have a toothache in the SAME tooth that he had a root canal on 6 months ago, the SAME tooth that broke and had to be repaired with a post only around 3 months ago. We are not STILL paying for both procedures that totaled over $2,000! He did not call me from the same dentist office to tell me, said tooth, would have to have a 2nd root canal, as the first one "didn’t get all of the nerve.” We most certainly were not asked to see a specialist to have the top of the tooth cut off, and a microscopic camera run down in the tooth to make sure that was indeed the problem. This was not such a completely horrifying absolutely ridiculous unpleasant solution to us that we decided to have the $2,000 tooth yanked out, and thrown in the garbage pulled. I certainly didn’t get so insanely outraged slightly aggravated, at our dentist that I definitely did not refuse to pay the bill for pulling his tooth!

Please Pray with Me...

It seems like so many children are being attacked lately: Stellan, Kayleigh, Cohen, and several Children at my church are also in need of lots of prayer for medical problems. Could every one just stop and pray with me for these precious children, for their healing, and for God's peace for their parents. Also, to meet financial needs that these medical problems may create.

Father we come to you now, in the name of your precious son Jesus, and ask you to place your hand on Stellan, Kayleigh, Cohen, Brooke, Zach, and Brower. We know that children are precious to you Father and we agree right now that you will heal these children and that you will use the difficulties that they have had to endure for your Glory!

But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.

Father, I ask for a special peace for the mother's of these Children right now! Lord, it's hard to watch your children go through things, and know that they have no control over the situation. Father please give them peace to release it into your hands and rest, knowing that you are God and you do all things well. Father, I also pray that you would deliver all of these families from any financial burden that they may be under. Please allow them to be able to focus on You and their children right now... We ask all these things in Jesus name.
