How Great is our God...(update on "the other" Heather)

This mother....

....was pregnant with twins that were diagnosed with Twin to Twin Transfusion

....was told most babies that have this problem do not survive

.....had 3 choices, abort the smaller twin so the larger might live, leave things “as is” and both would probably die, or have a surgery while pregnant that may not be successful

....chose surgery and life

....was then hospitalized at 24 weeks with early labor

These babies ...

...were given a slim chance of survival

...one showed signs of heart failure in the womb

...were born at 28 weeks

...each weighed only 2 lbs. 5 oz. when born

...were in the NICU

...had feeding tubes

...one had an infection, stopped breathing, and had to be resuscitated

...were not due until April 14, 2010

...ARE 8 weeks old

...ARE beautiful

...ARE ALREADY HOME!!!!!

PRAISE GOD!!! HE IS SO GOOD!!!

Update on the "Other Heather's" Twins

She was able to see the twins again. MC's infection is gone, but the doctor is going to leave her on antibiotics for a few days just to be sure.  She isn't digesting her milk very well so they are stopping her feeds (again) but this is not abnormal for a preemie of her size.  E is still doing great!  Please continue to pray for this family.  Did I mention they also have 2 boys, in addition to the twin girls, so their time is torn between needing to be at the hospital and needing to be with their boys at home. I am sure this is very difficult for them.

UPDATED... URGENT PRAYER...The Other Heather

UPDATE****
"MC" Does have an infection, they think they caught it in time, please keep praying, she is stable and on antibiotics now. ****

I got an e-mail from my friend Heather this morning, it sounded positive and the girls were doing great.

"MC" is in the "big girl bed" today. She's not in an isolette anymore, she's in the open air and "E" will be a couple of days behind her. Kind of scary and exciting at the same time. I can't wait until they're big enough to come home.

Then about 5 minutes ago I just got this text:

“Nurse just called. MC stopped breathing, heart stopped, had to have chest compressions and bag to bring her back. Had to be intubated, on ventilator now. Blood in lungs and stomach. They don’t know why it happened. Could be an infection. She is stable now. Please pray for her!”
Please pray for my friend, they really need it!! Pray for peace for the family, and healing and strength for the twins.

Bill's Dad

Just a quick update on Bill's dad.  The surgery went well, and he is home now and doing better.  He does have  heart disease so please continue to pray that he can make the lifestyle changes the doctors have told him to make.

Short Update

We should have a baby in less than two weeks.  They are going to schedule an induction to make sure my husband can be there (his job isn't very flexable for surprises).  I am already at 1 cm, and the baby is very low.  If you want to know the truth about it I am very miserable at this point (thus the reason for no heart felt blogging these days).  I am exhausted and not sleeping well, but there is an end in sight, and wonderful end I might add.  I am working shortened hours, and honestly wish I could just start maternity leave NOW...I am soooooo tired.  She should be here in time for Christmas, so I bought her a stocking, and am searching for a Christmas Dress for picutres.  All in all things are great, I just feel VERY pregnant.

Also, I have a friend who is pregnant with twins.  They were diagnosed with Twin to Twin Transfusion.  I am not sure of the specifics of the disease, I am going to have to research it a little better.  She left for Texas yesterday to have a corrective surgery, and the babies did great.  From what I understand they will have an excellent chance for survival pending what happens over the next week.  Basically I want to ask you all to pray for my friend and her babies for healing for the twins and peace for my friend, I can't even imagine what she is going through.  Her name is also Heather.

Update on Papaw

*****UPDATED*****
The CT scans came back all clear. Papaw is officially cancer free, and doesn't have to take any treatments at all!!! Praise God!!!
*********************

We got a great report on Papaw this week. He had his 1st "Cancer Doctor" appointment Thursday, they did blood work and said that everything came back normal, and said that his lymph nodes looked good. They will do a CT scan next week to scan his head, chest and stomach, but the doctor seems to think that the scans will come back clear. Praise God!! Praise God!! Praise God!!

Random Thoughts 3

Just a quick post to let you know I am still here....

I have moved positions at work and moved locations. I am glad for the change, but I stay extremely busy! I don't have much time to blog anymore (sniff). Anyway, just wanted to let you guys know I have not fallen off the face of the earth.

Our air went out last Thursday, and we couldn't find anyone to replace it until Monday. That was a miserable weekend. I stayed at Nichole's house or Mom's until Monday night. I really appreciated them letting me stay, but I really missed Bill for those 4 nights (he stayed at our house).

I am now halfway through my pregnancy, and VERY excited. I have started feeling the baby move, not very strong or regular, but I am feeling her and I know it's her. I still don't
"look" pregnant, I just look like I am gaining weight, I am getting wider instead of getting a belly...LOL

We are 99% sure we have decided on her name, but I am not going to announce just yet because we don't have a middle name and we are pretty wishy washy about these things.

Papaw got a semi-good report from the doctor this week, the cancer has NOT spread to any surrounding cells that they tested. He has a doctor's appointment next Thursday. From what I understand (which isn't much) they will run some tests to make sure the cancer hasn't spread to other organs. So please keep praying for him.

Well time is short, and I need to run grab some lunch...

Papaw Holston

I can't say alot, because I don't know alot...but my Grandfather (Papaw) is having some skin cells removed today. He had a skin cancer removed a couple of weeks ago, and they were going back today to remove more of the cells underneath. The doctor told my dad today (before they did the procedure) that it was a "Stage 3." However, I am confused about this, because I thought the tests today were suppose to determine what stage the cancer was. According to the doctor today they are removing more cells as a precautionary measure.

From what I understand he will see a cancer doctor in a couple of weeks to see if the cancer has spread, and if it has they will start an aggressive treatment (However, right now, Papaw says he isn't going to take the treatment)

Please pray that they will not find anymore cancer and that the treatments will be unnecessary.

12 Weeks and Prayers

So I keep hearing that things are suppose to get better by the 12th week of pregnancy, right??

I am so extremely exhausted, and still having horrible food aversions. I am 12 weeks and 2 days, so what gives?? I go to work, come home, some nights I might cook dinner (although my poor husband might disagree with that statement), then shower and go straight to bed. There were a few nights that I have actually been in bed before 7:00!! That is highly unusual for me, but lately that has been the norm. I am not complaining mind you, I will endure anything uncomfortable that is thrown at me, because the end result has been so long awaited. I just wish I could get that burst of energy everyone talks about during the second trimester so that I can get some stuff done around my house...There is so much to do and so little time to do it.

Switching gears....

I wanted to take a minute to ask everyone to pray for Stellan, he is in the hospital again. Check out MckMama's Blog for the latest details.

Also, a friend of a friend is in need of a miracle right now. Aimee is a friend of Nichole's family. Her family is in need of a miracle, her 28 year old brother suffered a stroke yesterday. I am not sure of the details, but I know things have taken a sharp turn for the worst today and the doctors aren't giving him much of a chance. They are going to do surgery (again not sure what type of surgery) but they are telling the family he is likely to not make it, they believe he is possibly already brain dead. Please be praying for this family, they need a miracle!!

Psalm 94:19 (NIV)
When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul.

Kayleigh Anne Freeman

Please pray for Kayleigh's Family. Yesterday Kayleigh was completely healed in Heaven. She is now made perfect, and is praising our sweet Jesus face to face. However, I know her parents would rather have had her healed here in their arms. Please pray for their comfort and peace as I know this is a horrible road to walk down.

May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word. ~ 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 (NIV)

Please Pray with Me...

It seems like so many children are being attacked lately: Stellan, Kayleigh, Cohen, and several Children at my church are also in need of lots of prayer for medical problems. Could every one just stop and pray with me for these precious children, for their healing, and for God's peace for their parents. Also, to meet financial needs that these medical problems may create.

Father we come to you now, in the name of your precious son Jesus, and ask you to place your hand on Stellan, Kayleigh, Cohen, Brooke, Zach, and Brower. We know that children are precious to you Father and we agree right now that you will heal these children and that you will use the difficulties that they have had to endure for your Glory!

Your word says:

Isaiah 53:5 (NIV)
But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.

Father, I ask for a special peace for the mother's of these Children right now! Lord, it's hard to watch your children go through things, and know that they have no control over the situation. Father please give them peace to release it into your hands and rest, knowing that you are God and you do all things well. Father, I also pray that you would deliver all of these families from any financial burden that they may be under. Please allow them to be able to focus on You and their children right now... We ask all these things in Jesus name.

Amen!!

Urgent Prayer!!

**UPDATE**
Stellan out of V-Tach, stayed in a perfect Sinus rythm for about 45 minutes. See MckMama's blog for details. Please continue to pray.
Also, on a side note, still can't get twitter to work on my phone, does anyone know if you have to have a specific phone for this function, I only have a Razor, not an IPhone or what ever the newest thing is these days...

Update on Stellan

MckMama updated on Stellan again last night. Please continue to pray for this sweet family. Words leave me, but I did think the verse on my side bar was appropriate for today.

I lift up my eyes to the hills -- where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. Psalm 121:1-2 (NIV)

Please continue to pray for complete healing for Stellan! God is not surprised by this, he has planned every one of our days since the beginning of time, he knows what he is doing! Please pray, and stand on God's word. His word is truth, he can not lie.

Angie's Prayer for Stellan

I have no regrets, I have never been more sure of my ground, the one I have trusted in, can take care of me to the end. (II Timothy 1:12)

Prayers for Stellan

Another Great Blog I read Bring the Rain has just posted a prayer for Stellan, It included the verses that follow! Please pray in agreement this prayer for Stellan right now! The Bible says that when two or more agree in the name of Jesus he will be with them. I think there are WAY more than 2 in agreement in Jesus name for baby Stellan and his family right now.

Angie's Prayer:

Lord Jesus, I know Your power. You are great like NO other. We will not cower in fear, nor will we let our thoughts consume us. Our Jesus is still the same....He is still the same. We are praying from a place of confidence, and with the belief that you are able. Heal him, Abba. We will give You all the praise...

(Psalm 103)
1 Praise the Lord, O my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
2 Praise the Lord, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits-
3 who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion,
5 who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's

(Psalm 41)
1 Blessed is he who has regard for the weak;
the Lord delivers him in times of trouble.
2 The Lord will protect him and preserve his life;
he will bless him in the land
and not surrender him to the desire of his foes.
3 The Lord will sustain him on his sickbed
and restore him from the bed of illness
...

Pray for Stellan!!

I know most of the people who read my blog also read MckMama's blog. However, if you don't please pray for her very sick 4 month old baby. There are updates on her blog, but in short, he has an enlarged heart with a heart rate of nearly 300 bpm. The doctors have tried almost everything (including stopping his heart and restarting it) so far nothing has worked.

God has given this family a miracle once! Please pray for anohter one. Stellan was diagnosed with several severe heart conditions in the womb and was told he would never live on this earth. When he was bron, a healthy full term baby, they couldn't find anything wrong with his heart. Apparently, this episode was brought on by a breathing treatment he was given when taken to the ER last night for respiratory problems. Please pray for this family and this baby, please pray for complete healing for Stellan, and strength and comfort for his mom and dad.

I have added MckMama to my list of blog under my "Pray For" section if you want to check her site later.
